Barbera (I recommend the feminine article) is a grape variety that in the Albese region gives rise to fragrant wines with marked acidity, little tannin and a certain rusticity.
Domaine de la Roulerie’s Cabernet Franc is an unconventional Cabernet Franc, which is why I associate it with a Barbera.
The grapes are macerated for only 48 hours, it does not undergo any ageing in wood and the alcohol content is only 12.5 degrees. It is a wine to be enjoyed chilled at 14/15 degrees centigrade.
Even those who do not like red wines very much will like it because of its freshness. Longevity is not in its DNA, it is not produced to last over the years but to be consumed in the first few years after release.
Buy it, put it in the fridge for a while (about 30 minutes) and serve it as an aperitif, your guests will love it.
In the WW catalogue at € 22.00.
